- We are truly grateful to have had these three mares. Alvesta Virginia Belle (buckskin) and her daughters Alvesta Misty Rose (roan) and Alvesta Mystique (grey) were wonderful ponies and wonderful friends; they laid a solid foundation for our Section B herd -- all of our homebred mares are descendents of them. They are all greatly missed.

While we take pride in Buttons' innumerous showring accomplishments in halter and performance, her real claim to fame is as a broodmare. Buttons is a very consistent producer, stamping her foals with type, quality, movement, and family favorite temperament. With their exceptionally trainable minds and athletic bodies, her offspring are excellent performance prospects (check out some of her ridden progeny on her page).
Due to Buttons' gentle nature, she was chosen to teach our kids to ride. Year after year under saddle and in harness, she went through pony club, parades, shows -- you name it, often with a foal at her side. Buttons is the all-around show/broodmare/family pony. Photo as a four-year-old with our daughter Christine, many years ago after winning 3rd in a class of 17 (of mostly horses).
Buttons had an adorable 2010 filly by *Cadlan Valley Pirate who can be seen on 2010 Foals.

An exceptional mare herself, she is also a great producer. She is a big, solid mare standing at 13.2hh. Fantasia is very correct, and she's a tremendous mover, which she passes on to her progeny. She has a beautiful head that is unmistakably Welsh, with an in-your-face personality. Producer of Supreme Champions and a Reserve Supreme Champion herself, Fantasia was one of the few ponies to make Premium in the Alberta Horse Improvement Program, accomplished at 2 years old. 2009 News: Fantasia's retained '08 filly made a very successful début in the showring! Alvesta Electra won 2009 Provincial, Western Regional, and National High Point Champion Section B 2 & Under Filly.

Monique is a lovely, typy mare with pocket-pony temperament. She has inherited the sweet and gentle family temperament. We look forward to some gorgeous future foals. Monique is unshown, but is a full sister to the many-time Champion mare Alvesta Indira and a half sister to our wonderful broodmare and Res. Supreme Champion Alvesta Fantasia.
We are very excited for Monique's first foal -- due in 2010, and sired by *Cadlan Valley Pirate

Laid back and easy going, Spice is just as happy with people as ponies, and we think she's gorgeous. Many-time Grand Champion Mare and a high point winner. Spice has had three foals to date -- all Champions -- who can be viewed on her page by the link below; we retained her beautiful 2009 colt, sired by the lovely imported stallion *Mynach Mystical.
In 2008, Spice took a year off from the showring. With only two double judged shows in 2009 she earned Provincial and Western Regional Res. Champion High Point Section B 3 & Over Mare, and ranked 3rd Nationally! Her foal followed suit as a Junior Champion and high point award winner! Morton's China Doll

We are excited to introduce China Doll to our herd, many thanks to Laurie Nelson for the opportunity to buy her. This lovely and sweet mare is sired by a stallion I've always admired and considered an exceptionally typy Welsh pony.
China had an exquisite filly by *Mynach Mystical; the filly can be seen on 2010 Foals.
